Rappan Athuk Update

We are getting closer and closer to finalizing this project. Sorry we seem to be a little MIA. It truly is because we are all hard at work. The new invoice and shipping software is just about ready. We will be breaking up the long list of backers into groups and sending out your individual invoice. Please read over it carefully to make sure the survey you filled out reflects your intended order. If it is correct you can pay any additional charges and/or shipping via paypal or check. PDF only pledges will not incur additional cost.

The Sword & Wizardry version was held up after the initial set of books were sent to the printer because of errors found. We are correcting those now. However this has delayed a part of the project. Most of the other supplements have also gone to print. All of the swag has been ordered and most of it we have currently. The dice are taking much longer than expected. We will have the first order of 500 soon along with the first 200 dice bags. The additional dice bags ordered and the additional dice from the 1000 backer bonus will take weeks longer to receive. Therefore, for some of the more comprehensive pledges especially with both versions may be delayed.

The PDFs of the books will be available after the corrections are made and the invoices have been sent out. The other PDFs like the wall art, lines, and Libram Booklet will be going out shortly via Kickstarter emails.

We incorrectly stated on the Kickstarter that the Pathfinder version would be black and the S&W version red. It should have stated that Pathfinder would be maroon to match the rulebook and S&W would be black to match the rulebook.
Thank you

PaizoCon 2012

EARLIER THIS month we attended PaizoCon 2012. We got to see many old friends and make new ones this year.
Of course we had a great time playing in the different events.
You could create Herolab files on site and paint your own reaper miniatures!
I got a few helpful hints from the Reaper gals (Shannon and Alison) and completed this kobold.
Thank you to the following Frogs for running adventures: Greg Vaughan, Skeeter Green, and Bill Webb. Here is Bill starting a game of Swords & Wizardry in the bar.
But we quickly had to move to a bigger spot where we pulled in several new players only to be quickly killed off in the ground level of Rappan Athuk.
Skeeter messing around with Baby Frog
Come on Baby Frog, you can save us!

After Bill's game, I jumped in Nick Logue's game with Greg Vaughn and was thoroughly entertained!
Nick really was animated and comical. Here is a little video of his storytelling
We literally gamed until our players fell asleep which I think was like 4am.
The next morning at 8am Skeeter Green ran the exclusive 7B module and all but 3 players were destroyed. Those 3 narrowly escaped as they ran screaming like little girls from Rappan Athuk's tunnels.
Just walking the hallways....
And believe it or not we even got Bill to play in one of Greg's Pathfinder game - Here is the proof!
Well until next year then... ~Blonde Frog

Frogs At Paizo!

Greg Vaughan and I were invited to Paizo’s headquarters (oh that doesn’t sound nearly impressive enough, let’s call it their “secret headquarters”…there, much better). James Jacobs, Paizo’s Creative Director escorted us. Wes Schneider, the editor-in-chief gave us the skinny as he guided us around. We visited James’ office first and Greg being the professional that he is immediately started twirling circles in his chair.

Just kidding, actually he was quite honored to reflect upon how awesome James is (then began rifling through all his things). Check out the awesome ship he has too (apparently Rob McCreary made it)!

While I distracted them, Greg poked around until he found this dog slicer.

Greg then proceeded to nonchalantly hack away at his arch nemesis (one of many) Brandon Hodge. Bwahahahahaha!

So we learned just how awesome James really is after we spotted the limited edition Tome of Horrors Complete in his office; which of course then immediately needed to be signed!

Next we moseyed on down to Wes’ office. The art-filled wall was a stark difference from several of the other walls in the office and immediately popped out at us. Heck who doesn’t love tarot cards by an amazing artist.

Wes also has these two very cool masks on his wall. Greg than proceeded to interrogate Wes on the book selection he had on his book shelf, wanting to know what the criteria was to make the cut. I think he was just fishing to see why The Slumbering Tsar Saga wasn’t on the shelf… but I think the coloring book might end up there. You know, Greg, the one he had me sign and not you. I cannot lie, that was cool.

Moving along…. Rob McCreary, Lead Developer, showed us his cubical and collection of “minis”.

The complete D&D action figure line!!!!

Here is Brandon admiring the painting expertise of McCreary. Please note, we were explicitly told not to touch… Brandon you are so busted!

After we finished pawing through as much stuff as we could (that we weren’t supposed to be touching) we made our way to the warehouse. Oh look a whole section of just Frog God Games stuff! We rock, we rock, (this is me doing my Eighty’s dance!)

P.S. Do you see how polite Neil Spicer is being with his hands tucked, not touching anything, and following directions. Us, not so much… huh, what do you mean I can’t take pictures of that man in the bathroom… oops. Yeah we are so not getting invited back. LOL

Then it was up the stairs to the big girl & boy floor, or so I’ve been told. No I will not reveal my sources!

We were greeted by Sully and Mike from Monster’s Inc. This houses the awards Paizo has received after being cleared out from Lisa and Vic’s house to make room for their recently acquired Tardis.

The first office upstairs we came to was Lisa’s outstanding office. With lots of natural light and a leather couch to boot; she was stylin’. Now you didn’t think I would actually share all the pictures I took of it, did you? I will share, however, these original art pieces that have been framed to hang on the wall.

The conference room I was told really became more of the place to play games. It was filled with RPGs, board games, and the entire bound collection of Amazing Stories going back to the 1930s.

So what’s the first thing Greg does… yup opens one up and starts thumbing through this collector’s item with fingers probably still sticky from lunch. Poor Wes had to school Greg in how to handle such a rarity. Geez, I can’t take him anywhere.

Strangely we kept finding references to toads and frogs. From the Daily Tiptoad, the dead dried toad, to Saint Toad. The amphibians have infiltrated!

Brandon just had to get Greg back for the Knife incident earlier so he took Mjolnir and clocked him one.

Lastly we finished up checking out the mounds of goodies at Liz Court’s desk. That is Richard Pett and Rob conspiring to take dice bags and other items... Just kidding, or am I?

Well, it was a good thing Greg had at least one frog chaperone along to minimize the destructive damage. Although there was that time we all lost track of him for 5 minutes near Pierce Watter’s office. Hmmmm, oh well!? Thanks again Paizo for putting up with our silliness. Until next year then ~Blonde Frog

We Did it, THANK YOU!

We started this project out wanting to raise $25,000 which was at the time on the very steep end of print RPGs on Kickstarter. At best we were nervous. We knew we had a good product but we were unsure how the funding platform would be received.

Beyond our wildest dreams you stepped up and proved to us that there is a demand for quality books and quality adventures no matter what the platform. That first 24 hours really knocked us back. Most of us frogs were on our computers nonstop that day refreshing every few minutes. We could not believe the success we had and the pledges just kept coming in.

After hitting our first 2 goals within 2 days we realized we better up the game and really offer some items as a thank you. Many of you commented that we should stop offering so much and that we had done enough but the truth be told we wanted to continue to offer thanks in reply as the support grew.

So after 60 LONG days and 1003 backers pledging $246,541, we just have to say THANK YOU! We cannot put it into words the honor you have bestowed us. The grand support from our fans, averaging $245 a pledge, bringing in a $10,000 pledge not to mention several $5000 pledges was ground breaking.

In addition we were picked up by several distributors who are buying not only Rappan Athuk but several other products, if not carrying our entire product line. This is a huge goal we achieved because it means more of our products in your local stores.

This roller coaster was unlike anything we would have imagined. From being extremely excited those first few days because we funded to being in reach of breaking Vampires record and lastly having Traveller start up and be quick on our heels.

As for the FINAL numbers they have yet to be seen. We will add up our distributor orders, any fan add-ons, and final shipping and post the numbers for the public (probably on July 10th). Although we did not finish as the highest funded print RPG on Kickstarter per se, we know without a shadow of a doubt that we are winners to have such loyal and devoted fans as you.

If we had to finish second, to someone, we are glad it is Marc Miller. He is classy guy with a great product. It is amazing though to see our fans back a single adventure that competed so long with an entire game system.

As promised we will be doing artwork to portray a Frog shaking hands with an Alien. We are humbled at the response across the board of fans supporting the games they love and play; whether it is a small funded project or a record breaking one. We are glad to see the industry do well and look forward to producing many more adventures to quench the thirst.

In our deepest hearts we say thank you a thousand and three times. Please know that our success is truly your success. Thank you.

Our survey will be going out soon and we will attempt to get everything to you as quickly as possible.
We will be offering several add-ons for swag on the survey. Because of the high demand we will be offering additional dice and dice bags as well (please note, these items may take longer to ship). As a thank you to our fans we will offer a one-time Kickstarter discount of 10% on our entire product line of books.

Shipping will be charged separately via PayPal along with any additional add on items. Please plan for the following shipping prices: USA backers $17 per box, Canadian backers $42 per box, and International $63 per box. Prices for small boxes for just swag will be listed on the survey. The $500 and up pledges will need more than one box, if we can fit in one we will return extra shipping charges. If you have special shipping instructions, be sure to list that on the survey.

Thank you again. Sincerely, All the Frogs!
